A Community-Focused Company

As a community-focused company, Jenefal Farms & Industries (JFI) places salt production at the core of its operations while actively using its broader agribusiness activities to create shared value for surrounding communities. Alongside its primary salt operations, JFI partners with smallholder cassava farmers (out-growers) organized into Farmer-Based Organizations (FBOs) in the Upper West Akim District, specifically the Adeiso Area Cassava Farmers Association. This collaboration supports sustainable cassava production to ensure the efficient operation of JFI’s Good Practice Center (GPC) and provides reliable market access for local farmers.

The association comprises five registered sub-groups with a total membership of approximately 104 farmers, formally organized under the auspices of the Rural and Agricultural Transformation Improvement Programme (RTIMP) to link directly with JFI’s processing operations. With technical support from LD Consult and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), JFI aims to expand this out-grower model by organizing additional farmers within the West Akim Municipality and neighboring districts. Through these partnerships, JFI seeks to strengthen local agricultural capacity, diversify rural incomes, and support both domestic and export markets, while maintaining salt production as the company’s principal economic driver.
